At Motion, we love celebrating the wins. While saying farewell to Bianca Trpcevski, one of our favourite people and an amazing recruiter, is a hard pill to swallow, our time with her was definitely a win – we’re privileged to have been a bit of her professional and personal journey, and we’re incredibly excited about the role she’s heading to with our mates at Atlassian. Before we say goodbye, we caught up with Bianca for a debrief about what she took out of her amazing stint with Motion.

How long have you been at Motion now? Tell us about your journey…..

It has been an amazing two years since I started here at Motion recruitment. I was fortunate enough to have started here in my 2nd year of my university degree. Throughout my time here at Motion I have been mentored by the best in the industry, I have grown so much not only in my career in the recruitment world but also as an individual. I started here at Motion Recruitment at 19 years old and I can confidently say that each consultant here has impacted my working career and life in such a positive way. It is such a bittersweet feeling leaving and I am very thankful for all the teachings, life lessons, advice, friendships that I have gained over these past 2 years.

Can you remember your first day at Motion?

I remember my first day at Motion so vividly – I was super nervous but as soon as I started everyone was SO welcoming and friendly. On my first day, the team had taken me out for a team lunch which was super exciting. I was also given so much training so I could understand the recruitment life cycle along with the IT side of things. It was a successful first day!

What has been your favourite part about tech recruitment?

I guess my favourite part about tech recruitment is that it is very challenging, and you are constantly learning. I don’t think I have stopped learning from my first day till now! There are so many different technologies, departments to explore which makes your work super interesting and every day is quite different. You also begin to familiarize yourself with a range of fast-growing startup tech companies and get to meet all different talent in the industry ranging from clients to candidates.

Do you think there is anything that separates Motion from other recruitment agencies?

Motion Recruitment is honestly one of a kind! I think what I love most about Motion is that we all play as a team! Even though we have different departments within IT, every consultant is open to helping each other when they can. Everyone is really passionate about what they do and the industry that they are in and I can definitely see this through the success of the business. The working culture here at Motion is great and I will miss seeing everyone and the daily laughs!

Any funny moments or memories you want to share from your time with the company?

Honestly, there are way too many memories I have made here at Motion Recruitment! We have had countless end of months and quarter parties. We have gone around the CBD trying out new cuisines and activities. If I had to choose one, I’d say our recent Christmas party. After a long year of experiencing Covid and the ups and downs we celebrated the year on a boat on Sydney Harbor… couldn’t get better than that!

Any advice for new recruiters or those considering entering the industry ?

The best advice I can give new recruiters or people considering entering the industry… is to try it out – they won’t regret it… especially at Motion the recruitment world is very challenging and also rewarding! Starting out in recruitment can be an information overload but slowly it comes – you will pick everything up easily and be an expert! The amount of clients and talent you’re exposed to is great and it’s a really exciting industry to be apart of.
