You talk about your experience, they assess your fit, and you both decide if there\u2019s a match. It sounds simple, but many candidates walk in underprepared. Here\u2019s what actually matters.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"393\" data-end=\"416\">1. Elevator pitch<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"417\" data-end=\"708\">You might think you know your career because you\u2019ve lived it, but that doesn\u2019t mean you can explain it clearly. Practice a 3\u20134 minute summary covering who you are, your experience, how your career has progressed, and how it links to the role. If you can\u2019t articulate it, you won\u2019t stand out. Recording it and playing it back can help you really nail it.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"710\" data-end=\"744\">2. Know the company and role<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"745\" data-end=\"940\">If they ask \u201cWhat do you know about us?\u201d and you can\u2019t answer confidently, you probably won&#8217;t. This is the easiest part of prep. Understand the business, the role, and why you want to work there.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"942\" data-end=\"974\">3. Know who you\u2019re meeting<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"975\" data-end=\"1097\">Check your interviewers on LinkedIn. Knowing their background helps you tailor your answers. At minimum, know their names.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1099\" data-end=\"1126\">4. Plan the logistics<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1127\" data-end=\"1297\">Don\u2019t be late. Know where you\u2019re going. If it\u2019s online, make sure your computer, camera, sound, logins and meeting links are ready. Scrambling at the start looks amateur.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1299\" data-end=\"1327\">5. Ask smart questions<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1328\" data-end=\"1536\">Timing matters. Save your questions for the end. If everything has already been covered, it\u2019s fine to say you don\u2019t have any. If the interview runs over time, leave non-essential questions for the next round.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1538\" data-end=\"1564\">6. Use \u201cI,\u201d not \u201cwe\u201d<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1565\" data-end=\"1700\">They want to know what you did. Be clear about your actions, decisions, and results. Use real examples and specific tools or processes.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1702\" data-end=\"1732\">7. Body language matters<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1733\" data-end=\"1935\">Firm handshake. Good eye contact. Sit upright. Dress appropriately. For online interviews, don\u2019t use your phone. Use a clean, professional background.
